Destiny 2 Forsaken is the latest installment of the popular Destiny franchise developed by Bungie. This DLC comes with it’s own story, a new game mode and massive upgrades on weapons to give a very pleasant gaming experience.

Destiny 2 Forsaken, takes the players on an epic journey into the wild frontiers of the galaxy, where the lines between revenge and justice are blurred. The game with impressive cut-scenes and a harrowing death of Cayde-6 adds more drama to the narrative. Destiny 2 Forsaken has a darker feel to it, in comparison to it’s predecessors.

A Strong Narrative

This revenge filled thriller, begins with a prison break sequence, which allows the players to soak in all the virtual feels from the game’s epic action sequences. The game introduces new characters like Spider, and brings back some old fan favorites like Petra Venj to create a grandiose flavor of wit and drama into the plot.

The Story line also brings in a new set of villains called the Scorn. This adds a layer of authenticity to the story line, as the Scorn have their own unique set of villainous traits which sets them apart from the previous antagonists of the game.

The death of Cayde-6 is a real heart wrenching moment and one can not help but feel sorry for the witty gunslinger as he is taken down by Uldren Sov. The demise of the character is then fulled by the failed prison break which leads Sov to unleash his tyrannical fury on the solar system.

A New Game Mode

Forsaken features an all new end-game activity called the The Gambit. This is an exciting new feature which gives more depth to the multiplayer sandbox. Gambit is a first of it’s kind feature for Destiny, which basically entails a 4v4 mode in either a player vs the environment (PvE) or player vs player (PvP) setting.

This whole new way of playing Destiny 2 gives something different to all types of gamers to enjoy. It is appealing to those who excel on the challenge of a PvP battle or the intricate and seamless adventure of the PvE game mode.

Correcting Mistakes

With Forsaken, Bungie has managed to iron out the clinks from Destiny 2, with a better hub for weapon and armor updates, the players can now find it a lot easier to equip themselves with better equipment before starting out on a raid.

The recoil and weapon lag of previous games have been minimized to offer a more seamless experience whilst being in the heat of battle. Bungie has been courageous enough to accept the mistakes of the past and have taken strong steps to give a more faultless version of the game.

The multiplayer modes have been updated on the request of the fans of the series and that will help the game reach out to more people than ever before. New games modes have added an extra layer of zest into the game and has made this DLC a must have for the fans of the franchise.

During the initial weeks of the Forsaken DLC, there had  been a few bugs in the game that prevented players from receiving an important item, called an offering. Without which the players were not able to advance further into the game. There was another bug that prevented them from being able to acquire more power early on. Thankfully, Bungie has acted quickly and fixed one issue immediately by offering a new weekly reset, and is also looking into what caused the Ascendant Blessing bug.

Breathtaking Visuals

Forsaken has two new worlds to explore, which provides the players to delve into the uncharted nooks and crannies of the galaxy in exploring new avenues. The game has used its full plethora of designing ingenuity to bring the new cities and universes to life with breathtaking visuals and graphics.

Each new world has its own set of geology which sets Forsaken apart from Destiny 2. The unique settings of the Dreaming City and the Tangled Shore has made the game more enthralling with its wonderful visual representation. The maps have been updated to give every area a set of unique visuals which adds more layers to the depth and the quality of the game.

Soundtracks and Audio

The musical scores in the DLC are also worth a notable mention. Forsaken’s soundtrack ebbs and flows with the narrative, making the story even more gripping. The air of tragedy and drama is infused by rising crescendos of a plethora of instruments weaving their magic as we journey deep into the unfamiliar world.

Forsaken’s soundtrack along with the brilliant voice acting makes the game a more active form of literary note which brings the players closer to the action on hand. The variation in the musical scores depending on the mood of the scene adds a layer of strong emotions invoked within the game.

The voice acting in Forsaken is also much more streamlined and seamless. Unlike a few glitches that came in regards to lip-syncing in Destiny 2, Forsaken feels a much more though out well scripted and edited form of the former’s story.

Verdict

Destiny 2 Forsaken, is the best DLC out there right now. With the series of improvements in and around the game, Bungie has managed to make the age old fans of the franchise fall in love with game all over again. With its massive new story, great improvements in the multiplayer genre and a awesome new game mode, fans will be coming back to play this game over and over again despite finishing the story.

Destiny 2 Forsaken has a lot to offer for every player, whether they are playing the game from the time the first installment came around or someone who is new to this world of first person drama, they will all feel that this a great gaming experience all together.

Overall Destiny Forsaken 2 is the step in the right direction for the developers, who have managed to capture the imagination of so many players worldwide. If you are a fan of this franchise and have played and liked Destiny 2 this DLC is just what the doctor ordered.
