Wrath Boss Battle Guide – Darksiders III

Our Darksiders III Wrath (Part 2) Boss Battle Guide details everything that you need to know about defeating Wrath, the second of the sins in Darksiders III. This is your second encounter with Wrath. This is actually the second boss of the game and second of the sins but this is your second boss battle with him and this time he has some new moves up his sleeve.

Wrath’s Move List

We have detailed Wrath’s moves below for the second encounter.

Running Slash

Wrath runs towards Fury and swings his big axe at her in a backhand swipe. You can dodge to his left and follow with a combo to attack him.

Gauntlet Swipe

If Wrath is not waving his axe, he will be waving his gauntlet in his left arm. The gauntlet has a very sharp end and will deal massive damage. Avoid this gauntlet swipe by dodging towards Wrath and using an Arcane Counter at the same time to deal damage to him.

Kick

Sometimes, Wrath will also kick Fury right in her face. This will knockback Fury and Wrath might follow up with another attack. This attack itself does little damage.

Left Slash

When you see Wrath lifting up his right foot, he is about to land his most powerful attack. He will follow up the leg lift with a powerful left hand slash which is also engulfed in flames. You can dodge to evade this attack but you will need to time it right.

Ground Pound

Wrath will also slam the ground with his right hand full of energy and send a deadly shockwave across the ground. You can evade this attack with a double jump if you time it right. Wrath will slam three times so time your jump carefully. If there are smaller enemies present in the arena at this time, Wrath will kill them and absorb their lurchers to gain back health after this attack.

Flying Swords

Wrath can now throw his swords around himself in an arc in circles. He keeps circling them for some time so the best you can do at this point is get inside the circle of the swords. You can check the red lined circle for the radius.

Overhead Sword Slam

Wrath’s final attack is an overhead sword slam which is a very powerful attack. Wrath will slam his swords in front of him simultaneously. With each hit, the ground will shake and you will need to dodge again to get out of harm’s way. The swords will eventually get stuck in the ground which will give you time to attack. Do not waste this opportunity.

Boss Battle Tips

The battle is mostly the same as the last time but the major difference is that Fury is not more powerful and Wrath also has some new powerful attacks which he will not hesitate to use often. He will also kill other enemies in the arena and regain his health back which will make the fight longer and tougher.

If you use Stasis Hollow here, Wrath’s movements will be slowed down and then get to his front and try to keep him away from other enemies in the arena. Instead, kill the smaller enemies yourself to get their souls before they can hurt them. Wrath will often wipe all angels and demons in the arena to get his health back.

His attacks are mostly the same and can be easily dodged. While he is circling the dual swords around himself, if you manage to get inside the circle, you can turn on the heat on Wrath as he is defenseless while he is spinning the swords around himself. Staying outside at this point will only leave more trouble for you as Wrath will continue moving towards you.

You can also use Stasis Shield at this point to further secure yourself from attacks. Most of Wrath’s attacks will leave him vulnerable for attacks if you time your dodge right. Do this and Wrath will go down easily. Also make sure that you do not let him kill the smaller enemies in the arena or he will keep refilling his health back.
