Blackout Best Drop Site and Landing Fast Guide

Below, we have detailed the best way to land fast, and what possible places will suit you best in the type of combat you situation you want.

Blackout: Landing Fast Guide

If you are a person who has no time to waste, OR if you just can’t wait that long to jump into the action, you will need to drop in as quickly as you can in the map. The first thing you need to do is to nosedive right after you jump from the plane. A Speedometer will tell you your free-falling speed, which reaches a maximum of 70 mph. Once you have hit that speed, pull up just a little so that your wingsuit can take full effect.

Your parachute opens automatically in the game, once you are coming in to land and are closer to the ground. This is the point where you have a few seconds to navigate and drop exactly where you want. Hopefully, you have landed on a place that isn’t occupied by another enemy, or better yet if you land close to a good weapon.

Blackout: Best Dropping Locations

Now that you have mastered landing fast, now we should take a look at all the places that are available on the map where you can drop. If you look at the map, there are many named locations spread throughout the map, these locations vary from being filled with high traffic to places that are eerily quiet at the start of the match. Depending on your taste, you can decide which location you want to drop in first.

Before we look into the details of the named locations on the map, let’s first talk about what you can expect once you land on any place of your choice. Since there is no rarity system in weapons in Blackout, you can find no shortage of ammo, weapons and health packs lying around. In addition, there are also zombies in some area that drop in some extra special loot, so keep an eye out for those.

Typically seen in the Beta, the quieter the place, the more you have the chances of finding a good weapon. For now, let’s go into the details of every location that was popular among players when the beta was live last month.

Firing Range

Remember the old Black Ops Map? This location is supposedly inspired by that in the original game, and also holds the best loot in the map, thus making this one of the most popular location for players to drop in.

Firing range has a decent amount of buildings in the area, where they provide a lot of cover with windows to peek out if necessary. These buildings provide a lot of cover and time to gather resources once inside. This location seems to be the most common endgame stage once the circle collapses, so you will be familiar with this location in no time.

Fracking Tower

Fracking Tower used to be a popular location amongst players at the very start of the beta, but it eventually turned out to be a high risk high reward area, especially considering that the location has a lot of open areas, making it a risk for players to be shot from a long distance, and also pinning you in a compromising position.

Lighthouse

This location lies at the outskirts of the map as you may have noticed by looking at the map of Blackout. Lighthouse sits at the very bottom of the map towards the southwestern side of the map. This can be a quiet place to land but can be a risk once the collapse starts incoming. However, the collapse doesn’t begin that quickly, so landing here can give you enough time to gather resources and scout for gear. The lighthouse can sometimes contain level 3 armor at the top, so you might want to check it out.

It would also be wise to look for an ATV around so you can outrun the collapse and get to another location safely.

Asylum

Asylum sits on a mountain range on the east side of the map. The best thing about this location is the hordes of zombies who are pacing around in the Asylum waiting for a victim. As mentioned before, zombies drop in some special loot and legendary weapons like the Monkey Bomb Grenade and the Ray Gun.

Asylum has a two storey building with a hedge maze behind it, look for some good loot at these spots.

Hydro Dam

Hydro Dam sits at the very top of the map in the Northeast. This place is again at the edge of the map and will require you to run to the middle of the map once the collapse is upon you.

There are two buildings to the west of Hydro Dam that are full of weapons, gear and medkits. In addition, these office style building can provide you with assault rifles too. Keep an eye at the dam where there may be a few enemies that may have followed you.

Nuketown Island

Nuketown Island is the island that is towards the west of the map that is connected by two bridges to the mainland. This place can be risky once coming in to the mainland, making you a juicy target for snipers lurking for a kill.

This location has a lot of underground bunker as the name suggests. These bunkers contain a decent amount of loot as well as a sign that lets you know how many players are left alive in the map. There is a good share of medkits ammo and weapons in this area, but do not let your guard down as this is also a place where a number of players like to drop in.

Construction Site

Construction Site was the most popular place for players to land because of the resource and weapons it gave out. In the beta, Construction was the preferred choice to drop in for most players. This high rise building site sits at the north side of the map.

There is no shortage of loot here as it sits between two massive structures, with multiple floors each, making the Construction Side a treasure trove of weapons and armors, and elevated position that provides players a great view of the surrounding area.

Another tip that we have found is that, if you go towards the small clump of white houses, directly south of Construction Site, you will have a high chance of finding the Koshka sniper rifle that usually spawns there.
