Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Mercenary Guide – Mercenary Strengths & Weaknesses

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Mercenary Guide

In this Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Mercenary Guide we will detail everything you need to know about Mercenaries in the game, what roles they play and what their abilities are. With the help of our guide you can raise up your ranks by defeating every tiered Mercenary.

Mercenary Rank and Rewards

In Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Mercenaries are ranked in tiers. These tiers range from 9 to 1. Nine is the lowest tier while One is the highest. You start with the lowest mercenary and each time you defeat one, your rank is raised higher by one tier.

As you progress with each tier, the mercenaries become stronger and tougher for you to defeat. In addition, defeating the higher ranked mercenaries give you more reward. There are other mercenaries too that give out legendary rewards or engravings to you once you defeat them and loot their gear.

Battling Mercenaries

There are many ways to face off mercenaries in the game. You can explore your way and find one, or you can increase the bounty on your head for them to hunt you down. Your bounty is indicated by the helmet meter in the bottom left of the screen. The more the bar is filled up, the greater the number of mercenaries that are looking for you.

You can also track mercenaries and observe their level and gear that they have, before you decide to engage one in a fight. In order to clear up the bounty that is on your head, you can either pay off the bounty, or locate and kill the sponsor who put the bounty on you.

Mercenary Abilities

Mercenaries come with two abilities: one positive and one negative. Their Strengths highlight what they are best at doing or their power ability, while their Weaknesses highlight what attack they are more susceptible to. In addition, some skilled mercenaries travel with a tamed animal that aides them in a fight or some are skilled to use fire attacks.
