Apex Legends Horizon Guide

This Apex Legends Horizon Guide will show you how to play as the new Legend in the latest season of the game. Apex Legends Season 7 Ascension has just gone live and it brings along a new Legend in a new map and plenty of other things to be excited about.

Horizon, or Dr. Mary Somers, is the latest Legend to join the arena among the other Legends as a gravity manipulator. Horizon is said to be a charmingly eccentric astrophysicist who was hired to find a solution. When she moved from her family to dedicate her time to scientific research, she moved to Olympus, the new map in the game.

It is during her work in Olympus where she found Branthium, an element she was convinced could be the key to limitless energy. As a master of gravity, she joins the Apex Games back in Olympus where her scientific research was based in the past.

Apex Legends Horizon Guide

Now that we know a little backstory of Horizon, let’s look at her abilities and how you can use them in matches.

Horizon Abilities

This list contains all the abilities that are special to Horizon.

Passive Ability – Spacewalk: Increase air control and reduce fall impacts with Horizon’s custom spacesuit.

Tactical Ability – Gravity Lift: Reverses the flow of gravity, lifting players upwards and boosting them outwards they exit.

Ultimate Ability – Black Hole: Deploy N.E.W.T. to create a micro black hole that pulls players in towards it, and hits them with a graviton blast at the end.

Horizon Combat Tips

Horizon is an excellent assault or support Legend that invites you to just jump into the action and take on a squad. Her abilities are pretty strong, but still very well-balanced right now. However, it is how you use the abilities by pairing them together that you can excel while playing as Horizon.

Her Passive Ability, the Spacewalk, has no impact stun when you land on the ground from great heights. We have all tried many things to reduce the impact of stun. Trying to hit the melee button at the moment of impact was an exercise in futility, but it is a walk in the part for Horizon thanks to her custom spacesuit.

Her Tactical ability, the Gravity Lift is an excellent new tool that works somewhat similarly to the hot geysers in the World’s Edge map. You can throw the device anywhere you want which will spawn a gravity life that goes up quite high. What also makes this Horizon’s most powerful ability is the new map because of its verticality and tons of areas with higher ground.

You can use the gravity lift to either raise yourself and your teammates to get to a higher position, or even throw it at the enemy squad to disorientate them. The best part about this ability is that it has a 15-second cooldown, which means you can use this device quite a lot of times in a few combat situations themselves.

Talking about disrupting and disorientating the enemy squad, Horizon’s ultimate ability which produces a black hole and sucks enemy is also pretty strong. Horizon will throw NEWT wherever you want which produces a small black hole that slightly sucks in the enemy towards the event horizon.

Now the Black Hole ultimate sounds powerful, but it’s not as effective as it is supposed to be. Firstly, the gravity pull in the area of effect is not strong. But it does mess up the field of view for anyone inside it. The ability runs for 10 seconds, which is not a huge amount of time, but enough to disrupt an unsuspecting squad and take out a couple of opponents. And if you are wondering about its cooldown period, her ultimate ability recharges every 120 seconds, which is relatively quick.

In conclusion, the best ability that Horizon possesses is the Gravity Lift, which paired with her Spacewalk makes her a very satisfying and mobile player. If your teammates don’t mind the impact stun, the Gravity Lift can also assist them in their own show.
