It not only boosts your crit rate but also gives solid fire resistance, something that is rare on a single armor piece. Since it already starts at a high tier and upgrades well, it can carry you through a big portion of the game.
Kuku Flame-Resistant Armor Guide – Crimson Desert
Before you start, you will have to gather four main items. These are:
- Enhanced Kuku Pot
- Scorch Flame Plate Armor
- Power Core – Casket of Illusions
- Core of Absolution
Once you have everything, you can craft the armor at Grimnir’s workshop, which is just south of Hernand.
Crafting the Enhanced Kuku Pot
This item takes a bit of effort because it is made in two steps.
First, you create a basic Kuku Pot using 5 Iron Ore and 5 Timber. Iron Ore is easy to spot around cliffs near Hernand, while Timber comes from chopping trees with a Logging Axe. If you don’t have one, you can buy it from Provisioner’s Shop or earn it through a Turnali’s request.
After that, you upgrade the pot into the Enhanced version by adding an Abyss Cell.
This material is harder to find. One good place is a northern cave near Pailune, just head uphill from the river, and you will find it. Inside, you will fight small rock-like enemies that drop Abyss Cells.
Another option is Root’s End Ruins, where some “fake” stones turn into enemies and drop the same item when defeated.
Finding the Scorch Flame Plate Armor
This armor piece is hidden inside a chest north of Deminiss. When you reach the area, look for a group of buildings.
There is a low entrance between buildings that you need to crouch or slide through. Inside, you will find the chest containing the armor. It is a quick grab once you know where to look.
Getting the Power Core – Casket of Illusions
For this item, head south of Hernand and search for a broken building. Inside, you will see a cube sitting in the open. If you already have a Kuku Pot, you can use Axiom Force to pull the cube out and seal it into the pot.
There is also a chance you might already have this item, since enemies in the open world can drop it randomly.
Unlocking the Core of Absolution
This one comes from the Sanctum of Absolution, located toward the bottom of the map. After solving the puzzle inside, a machine in the center activates.
You will need to use the Blinding Flash skill here. Shine light on the big crystal and watch the smaller gems rotate around it. The trick is to time your flashes so they hit each gem as it lines up with the light. It takes a bit of practice since the light has a slight delay, so try to aim just ahead.
Once all gems are activated correctly, the Core of Absolution will appear. Use your grappling ability to grab it and store it in your Kuku Pot.
Crafting the Final Armor
After collecting all four materials, go back to Grimnir’s workshop near Hernand. Crafting the armor will give you a Tier 5 piece right away, which is already quite powerful.
At its base level, it provides Critical Rate Level 2 and Fire Resistance Level 10. When fully upgraded, the critical rate increases even more, making it perfect for players focusing on serious damage builds.
You can’t sell this armor, but honestly, it is strong enough that you will want to keep it anyway.
