This Reanimal Chapter 1 Walkthrough Guide details how you can complete the first chapter of the game and find all collectibles in it. Reanimal has a large number of collectibles, ranging from Secrets, Masks, Posters, the Hidden Statue, the Coffin, and Rest Your Legs spots. Following this guide will allow you to not only complete the chapter easily but also find the many collectibles along the way.
Chapter 1 Walkthrough Guide – Reanimal
At the beginning, you are on a small boat. Drive straight ahead and follow the glowing red buoys to stay on the right path. Not long after starting, you will spot a girl floating in the water. Pick her up, and she becomes your companion for the rest of the journey.
Keep steering forward while carefully avoiding the sea mines. Once you reach the shore, explore the back-left corner of the area to find a chest. Open it to get a key. Use that key on the locked door to the right.
Beyond the door, move through a sewage tunnel until you reach a switch connected to a large fan. Pull the switch to stop the fan and quickly run through before it turns back on. If your partner doesn’t make it in time, you can activate the switch again from the other side.
Soon after, open the floor hatch and drop down into a very dark area. Use your lighter, R1/RB, to see better and continue forward. Crouch through the narrow opening ahead, L2/LT, then climb up the next ladder.
Near a closed gate, interact with the wall to lift your partner. Then interact again so she helps pull you up.
Mask 1 (Secret 1)
Climb another ladder and turn left. Follow the path around the corner until you reach a door leading outside. Squeeze through a cracked wall opening nearby. Inside, you will find a box containing the first mask.
Return to the previous room and approach the grate to trigger a short scene with a trapped NPC.
Rest Your Legs 1 and Rotating Tube Puzzle
Take the path to the right and enter the room at the end. On the far left side, sit in the chair to complete the first Rest Your Legs spot.
In the exact room, flip the power switch in the back-right corner. This activates a large rotating tube outside.
Leave and backtrack until you find a short ladder going down. Cross the solid pipe, then climb up the wall on the right side. Stand by the switch near the spinning tube and call your partner to hold it in place. While she keeps it steady, jump down safely onto the tube and walk across, being careful not to step on the broken section.
Climb the ladder at the front, move right, and push down the wooden beam so your partner can join you. Go through the next door together.
Mask 2 (Secret 2)
In the locker room ahead, open the locker directly opposite the entrance. Step inside to access a hidden space. The second mask is under the sink inside this secret room.
Head back out and continue through the upper door. Climb down the ladder, crouch through the vent, and squeeze through the metal grates to reach the outside.
Dark Tourism Trophy, Rest Your Legs 2 & Poster 1 (Secret 3)
Climb another ladder outside. You will briefly see a man walk into an alley. Before following him, go past the two rails and turn right around the corner. You will see two chairs.
Kick down the chair with the man sitting on it to unlock the “Dark Tourism” trophy. Sit on the other chair to complete the second Rest Your Legs spot. Behind them, check the wall to find a poster, which is a secret.
Poster 2 (Secret 4)
Soon you will reach a courtyard with a minecart and three doors. Enter the upper-right door with the light above it. Inside, you will see the same man go through another door. To the left of that door, you will find another poster on the wall.
Mask 3 (Secret 5)
Near the poster, squeeze through a crack in the wall. Pick up the plunger beside the body and use it on the glowing toilet in the middle of the room to get a key.
Return to the courtyard and enter the lower-right door; this one has no light above it. Inside, follow the path to a room filled with explosives. Look under the table holding a bomb to find the third mask.
Rest Your Legs 3 and Minecart Repair
Go back to the courtyard and use your key to unlock the left door. After jumping across a gap, you will see another chair; sit on it for the third Rest Your Legs.
Continue forward into the hallway and pick up the wheel at the end. On your way back, crawling enemies will appear. These will instantly kill you if they catch you, so sprint and avoid them as you head back to the minecart.
Attach the wheel to the minecart. Grab the second wheel from the ground and fix both sides properly. Once repaired, ride the minecart with your partner across the bridge.
Coffin 1 (Secret 6)
After bridge crossing, stop at the track intersection and step off the cart. Follow the railway to the right until you see two crashed trains. Walk through the wreckage and exit on the other side. There, you will find the hidden coffin. Open it before returning.
Hidden Statue 1 (Secret 7)
Ride the minecart to the end of the tunnel. On the left side, look for a crack in the wall. Go through it to discover the hidden statue. Interact with it to light a candle and complete this secret.
Return to the main path, climb onto the train to the right, and move through the train yard.
Train Section
Climb up onto a train and drop through the hatch into the carriage below. An enemy will enter shortly after. Hide under the seats by crouching and wait until he leaves.
Follow him carefully while staying hidden behind boxes. Climb up the luggage and enter through a train window. Inside, run to the front and pull both levers.
Escape quickly through the rear door and climb the nearby ladder to reach the rooftops. Jump across the trains while avoiding the large enemy until your partner pulls you up.
Drop down onto the rocks and take the right path. More crawling enemies will attack, run, and jump across gaps to escape them. When additional crawlers come out of an alley, lure them away, then slip past and climb over the fence.
On the left, interact with a tree stump to pick up a saw. Use it to cut down the tree blocking your path and cross over it. Continue forward until you reach an ice cream truck.
Run toward the bottom of the screen. The truck will suddenly chase you. Keep running until you fall off a cliff, triggering a cutscene where one of your friends gets taken.
Poster 3 (Secret 8) and Ending
After the scene ends, go far left to find another poster attached to a camping trailer.
Enter the street area and open the left door of the car parked there. This causes it to roll downhill and smash through a gate. Follow it to trigger the story trophy Home From Home, which finishes the chapter.
