Nioh 3 Takeda Shingen Boss Battle Guide

In this Nioh 3 Takeda Shingen Boss Battle Guide, we will see all the tips and tricks you need to defeat Takeda in both Human and Monster Form. Takeda Shingen is fought twice, first as a human warrior and later as a powerful monster. Even though the two battles feel very different, the overall idea remains the same: smart positioning, controlled aggression, and proper use of Ninja Style. The human fight is relatively easy, while the monster version requires more patience and careful movement.

Below, we have dedicated sections on both the human form and the monster form of the boss battle to make it easier for you to understand the guide.

Takeda Shingen – Human Form

You will face Takeda Shingen in its Human Form in Mission: A Fiery Invasion at Level 43. This version of Takeda is surprisingly simple if you prepare correctly. Before the fight, unlock the Ninja skill called Footstool Jump using 1 Ninja Point. Stay in Ninja Style during the battle.

If you collected all regional collectibles beforehand, especially all Kodama, this battle becomes easier. Starting with more Elixirs gives you better survivability, which helps a lot in the fight.

Instead of trading blows with him on the ground, rely on mobility. Double jump over him and do the heavy attack while in mid-air to strike as you land behind him. This attack ignores his blocking attempts and hits him hard from the rear. Since you are airborne most of the time, he struggles to counter you. His Ki will drop very quickly from repeated aerial attacks.

There is no need to overcomplicate this fight. Keep jumping over him, land the heavy mid-air strike, and repeat. Because he blocks a lot, this method completely shuts down his defense. It is one of the easiest human boss encounters when handled this way.

Monster Form

You will face Takeda Shingen in its Monster Form in Mission: Tiger’s Cause at Level 50.

Later, Takeda returns in a monstrous form with a full health bar and much more aggressive attacks. His moves are wild, and many of them hit in a wide area. He often slams the ground, creating shockwaves that damage everything near him. Staying close for too long is risky.

As with other large bosses, your safest spot is behind him. Dodge diagonally forward to the left to reposition yourself behind his body. From there, land a few melee strikes and immediately pull back. Keep your Ki high at all times so you can escape if he suddenly attacks. This fight works best with a hit-and-run style instead of constant pressure.

During his first phase, focus on dealing safe melee damage and building up your Ninjutsu. Attack briefly, retreat, and repeat the cycle.

When he enters his second phase, he ignites and becomes much more dangerous. He starts launching large fire projectiles, making it harder to approach safely. At this point, create as much distance as possible. Move to the far side of the arena and avoid direct melee combat. Use this time to unleash your stored Ninjutsu and Magic from range. Let him burn out while you stay safe.

After some time, he calms down and returns to his normal state. When that happens, shift back into your close-range strategy; get behind him, land a few strikes, and disengage before he can counter-attack.
