In MIO: Memories in Orbit, your first boss battle is with Egis, and it is also the first test of your skills. This fight isn’t about rushing the boss down or dealing a lot of damage quickly. Instead, it teaches you to stay calm, keep moving, and wait for the right moments to attack. This MIO: Memories in Orbit Egis Boss Guide details all the tips and tricks you need to defeat Egis.
Egis Boss Guide – MIO: Memories in Orbit
Egis is a close-range enemy who does not stay still. He constantly jumps, teleports, and attacks with a sharp spike to push you into making mistakes. The key to surviving this fight is learning his movement patterns and reacting instead of panicking.
At times, Egis will go diagonally across the arena with his spike body extended, trying to catch you as he moves. When this happens, do not follow him or move toward his landing point. Instead, calmly walk in the opposite direction. His jump leaves a safe space near where he started, which keeps you out of danger.
Another common attack is a rapid series of forward strikes directly in front of him. These hit fast and cover a wide area horizontally. As soon as you see this begin, jump over him and land behind him. This gives you a safe opening while he finishes the attack.
Egis will also strike the ground at an angle (diagonal) with one of his spike-covered arms. This attack punishes players who stay too close or try to rush through him. When you see him preparing this move, jump over his body rather than backing away. He takes a moment to recover afterward, giving you time to hit him from behind.
Some of Egis’s most dangerous moments come from teleporting. He can briefly disappear and reappear at ground level before rushing straight across the arena at high speed. This charge stays low, so jumping as soon as he appears is the safest option. Let him pass beneath you, then reposition.
In some other moments, Egis will vanish and reappear above the battlefield before diving straight down. As soon as you spot him hovering over your head, move sideways. Simply stepping left or right is enough to avoid the attack, after which you can safely reposition and prepare to counter.
To beat Egis, you need to stay mobile and patient. Do not try to deal hits or attack him head-on. Wait for him to commit to an attack fully, then move behind him and strike while he recovers. Watching his arms is especially helpful, as they glow red just before he uses spike attacks. This small visual warning gives you enough time to react if you stay focused.
