The With a Trace Quest requires us to complete two main things to finish this mission.
- Finding ARC Activity Near Barren Clearing
- Inspecting the Comms Device at Adorned Wreckage

Finding ARC Activity Near Barren Clearing
You first need to go to Barren Clearing, located on the west side of Blue Gate. The map shows the spot clearly, but the exact objective you need to achieve is easy to miss.
When you arrive:
- Look for a huge Baron Husk, the broken remains of a massive ARC machine.
- Near one of the severed legs, look for the ball joint.
- As you get close, a yellow/gold “Investigate” prompt will appear.
- Interact with it to complete the first part of the quest.
Inspecting the Comms Device at Adorned Wreckage
Next, head to Adorned Wreckage, which is just short south of Barren Clearing.
Once you reach the wreckage:
- Look for a small computer on a table.
- It is next to a broken piece of machinery with an antenna and cables running toward the large wreck in the center.
- Interact with the computer to complete the final objective.
This area usually has fewer players since it is near the edge of the map. You don’t need to fight anyone, so bringing a free loadout is good. It doesn’t matter if you die afterward because you don’t need to bring anything back to Shani to complete this mission.
Rewards for Completing With a Trace Quest
After returning to Shani in Speranza, you will receive:
- Looting Mk. 2 Augment: Lets you carry more items and adds one extra Safe Pocket slot.
- Medium Shield: Offers more protection than a Light Shield but slows you down a bit.
Both items can be sold for 2,000 Coins, but because they are costly to craft or buy, it is good to keep them. They are helpful for future missions and make farming coin resources much easier.
