Keeping your shield charged is extremely important because it blocks most of the damage before it hits you and decreases your health. Shield Guide – ARC Raiders
There are three main shields in the game: Light, Medium, and Heavy. At the start, you will only have the Light shield, but as you explore new areas and complete raids, you can find other stronger ones. Each shield comes with different stats like Shield HP, Damage Protection, and Movement Speed Reduction depending on its weight.
Here’s what each type offers:
- Light Shield
This is the basic shield with 40 HP (four bars) and 40% damage protection. It weighs 5.0 units and does not slow you down. You can find it through exploration, craft it at the Workbench or Gear Bench (Level 1), or buy it from Lance at the Clinic for 1920 coins.
- Medium Shield
This shield has 70 HP (seven bars) and 42.5% protection. It’s a bit heavier at 7.0 units and slightly reduces your speed by 5%. You can find it through exploration, craft it at the Gear Bench (Level 1), or purchase it from Lance for 6000 coins once you reach Level 12.
- Heavy Shield
The strongest one with 80 HP (eight bars) and 52.5% damage protection. However, it is also the heaviest, weighing 9.0 units, and slows your movement by 15%. You can find it through exploration, craft at the Gear Bench (Level 2), or buy it from Lance for 16500 coins after you reach Level 20.
How to Recharge Shields:
When you are engaging an enemy in a fight and take damage, some percentage of it will be absorbed by your shield if you are wielding one. But this shield will protect you until it has energy. Once it runs out, you will now take 100% of the enemy’s damage, so you need to recharge it using some items.
Here’s what you can use to recharge:
- ARC Powercell
This restores two shield bars. You can find these on the bodies of defeated ARC machines or inside ARC Pods and Couriers.
- Shield Recharger
This restores four shield bars. This item can be crafted at the Workbench or Medical Lab and is also bought from Lance (Clinic Trader) for 1920 coins.
- Surge Shield Recharger
It restores a large amount of five shield bars. You can craft it at the Medical Lab (Level 2) or buy it from Lance for 3600 coins.
