Like its predecessor, Hollow Knight: Silksong is full of secret areas to find, enemies to kill, and treasures to find. Moss Grotto is the first starting area of the game. It is smaller when compared to other areas of the game, but it is filled with some cool secrets for you to find, including a very tough enemy. Moss Grotto Secrets Guide – Hollow Knight: Silksong
There are four secrets in Moss Grotto that you can find starting from the very first area.
Secret #1:
When the game begins, instead of heading left and following the path, move right and jump to grab a ledge and find a secret room. Destroy the chest here, and you will get some Shell Shards.
Secret #2:
Now, before you go back, jump on the right side once again, and you will yet grab another ledge. Continue moving to the right, and you will find yourself in another secret room with a huge sleeping enemy. This is a tough fight, so quickly run inside the room and land a few hits. Once the roaring starts, get back and jump over the enemy once it starts rolling towards you. While jumping, use the Dive attack to stay in the air for longer.
It will roll around 3, 4 times before coming to a stop, so make sure you are ready for all incoming rolls. If it hits you, it will take away two hearts in a single hit, so avoid getting hit. Kill this enemy and you will get a Beast Shard, which gives you 140 Shell Shards when consumed in the inventory.
Secret #3:
Now go back to the main path and continue following it until you arrive at the water pond. Instead of going above the mossy platform, jump down into the water and go to the left side to unveil another secret path. Head inside this area and then go up to the very top to find some rocks. Destroying the rocks and killing the enemies here will net you some Shell Shards.
Secret #4:
This is a good one because this will give you Rosary Beads. Keep following the main path until you arrive at one of the final ledges before the path that leads you to the first bench of the game. Before going ahead towards the bench, fall down the path while sticking to the left side, and you will land on a ledge that cannot be accessed normally. Continue ahead to kill two enemies and open a chest with around 30 Rosary beads inside it.
