You will encounter the Brumak in Act V’s chapter Jurassic Proportions. While it may look like an intimidating boss battle, if you know what you need to do, it is not that difficult a boss battle. The strategy remains the same for this boss battle for all difficulty levels, but you will need to manage your ammo and take more cover during higher difficulties, as the Brumak will take additional punishment before going down. Brumak Boss Battle Guide – Gears of War: Reloaded
As soon as the boss battle begins, you will find yourself at one end of the arena and the boss on the other. The Brumak will instantly start firing its hand cannons at you to best get into cover. When it stops to reload, come out of the cover and start firing on its hand cannons. These are your first targets. It will also move towards you while shooting, so make sure that you move from one cover to another depending on the boss’s location.
Keep shooting at one arm’s cannon, and once it is destroyed, repeat the same strategy on the other hand as well. You must destroy both cannons. During this time, apart from shooting from its arm cannons, the Brumak will often fire from its main cannon as well. These missiles hit hard, so dodge or sprint around and try to avoid the whole salvo. Once both arm cannons are down, your next goal is to take out the Brumak’s driver.
To kill the driver, you must shoot the Brumak’s legs to make it fall. During this phase, the driver is close enough to shoot at, but it is dangling back and forth inside the seat, so you will need a good aim to kill it. In addition, while shooting the legs, you often run out of ammo, and when it is time to shoot the driver, you waste it reloading. This window is very small, so if you run out of ammo, switch to your secondary weapon and shoot the driver. Make sure to keep it at a distance during this phase as well. Once you manage to kill its driver, the Brumak will go berserk, and a cutscene will take over as you kill it.
