The Alchemist is weak if you are close to it, which is why it will have plenty of attacks that force you to back away. From projectiles to area of effect attacks that push you away, there are plenty of attacks that you need to look out for during this boss battle.
The Alchemist relies on its mace for its main way of attacking, but can also produce lightning and ice attacks around it. In addition, one of the deadliest attacks this boss has is when it uses projectiles such as grenades to hit you. The attack is pretty quick and the grenade does deal a lot of damage if you are caught in it. Likewise, the Alchemist is also weak to grenades, so if you can afford to have a few in your inventory, you can use them to finish the fight in no time.
If you can afford the grenades, make sure that you keep close to the boss and move around whenever it is performing a dash or an AoE attack. Keeping close ensures that you can always land a few hits in between the boss’ attacks, while also taking advantage of the boss’ slow animation and movement.
Any time The Alchemist begins a slow animation where it uses its pot, this is an indication of a lightning attack that will have you moving away from the boss. During the battle, the area will also turn red, which then bursts in flames all around the boss. Move away from danger and come back within striking distance of the boss once the attack is over.
Your strategy here is to anticipate the attacks, especially the AoE attacks which start off slow and with animation before hitting while keeping close to the boss will have you effectively hitting and taking out chunks of the boss’ health over time.
