Intellivision just hosted their E3 2021 showcase and showed us their upcoming Amico console in detail. Detailed as a family-friendly, co-op console, the Intellivision Amico is taking a brand-new approach towards its development as the games it features are focused more on co-op and family fun rather than competition and visual fidelity.
At their E3 2021 presentation, Tommy Tallarico, CEO & President of Intellivision shared details about the console and their approach towards making the console. The developers behind the console have a collective 600+ hours of working in the video game industry. These people have been working on the games and the console. Friendship, family, and co-op are the main elements behind Intellivision Amico. Check out the Intellivision Amico E3 2021 presentation below to see the console and games in action:
Intellivision Amico comes with two controllers right out of the box and each of them comes with a colored capacitive touchscreen. It also has the option of free downloadable app controllers for up to 8 players. The controllers also come with haptic feedback, vibration features as well as LEDs that sync up with the console’s own set of feedback LEDs. With a decent library of titles, Intellivision Amico aims at bringing family-friendly, local party consoles back to life.
Earlier, we got to know that Koch Media will be handling the physical distribution of Intellivision Amico in Europe and New Zealand, and Australia. This includes both the consoles and the accessories for it. Additionally, VIP pre-orders will allow players to get the console along with additional goodies and six built-in titles with their console. Intellivision Amico was originally revealed back in 2018.
As part of the E3 2021, Intellivision is also hosting a giveaway which includes an exclusive Earthworm Jim signed art prize giveaway.
