How to Find Your Home
Microsoft Flight Simulator lets you fly anywhere in the world. This means that you can take off from your home city, fly over the streets that you are familiar with, visit landmarks near your location, and most of all, fly over your own home where you probably are playing the game from. The first thing you need to do is to find the nearest airport in your city or around where you live. This location must have a real and active international airport that the game can recognize, allowing you to take off from the airport.
The two most important steps are to find your home and an airport near it. The first thing is to open up Google Maps and locate your house. Now right-click over your house and copy the coordinates for this location. Inputting the coordinates into the game and flying an aircraft in Free Flight mode set your Arrival Location for the flight.
The second important step is to find an airport near your home where you will fly from. This will be your Departure point. The best way to locate an airport near you is by trying my method, which is to use Flightradar24. This will allow you to find the nearest airport near your location (if you have current location ON). Otherwise, you can also add in the coordinates of your home, and input them in the game to look for airports near you. Depending on what city you are in, you might find an airport quite a distance away from your home. Zoom out and pick the closest you can find.
If your home is far from an airport in real life, you might have to fly for some time to reach your city or the arrival destination that you may have set. Either way, the process is quite simple if you do it correctly and follow the destination after taking off in your aircraft.
When you reach close to your destination, it would be best to open up the VFR MAP by pressing V. This will open up a small map on the screen that can help you. The VFR MAP shows the location on the map, which you can use to navigate towards your destination.
