11 bit studios, the renowned developer behind Frostpunk, is thrilled to announce the commencement of an exclusive Limited Access Beta for Frostpunk 2. Players who have pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition of Frostpunk 2 gain early access to this highly anticipated sequel starting today. The Beta features a week-long sneak peek into the Utopia Builder Preview, allowing players to dive into the unforgiving Frostlands once again and experience the game’s evolving narrative and enhanced gameplay mechanics. Frostpunk 2 is scheduled to launch on July 25th, promising an immersive society survival strategy experience unlike any other.
The original Frostpunk captivated players with its compelling narrative and challenging gameplay, and Frostpunk 2 aims to elevate the franchise to new heights. In a departure from the original, Frostpunk 2 introduces the Utopia Builder Preview, a sandbox mode enriched with a deeper narrative and unique gameplay elements specific to the sequel. Players are tasked with shaping society and navigating ideological conflicts as the new Steward, overseeing the development of a council representative of various factions and their visions for the future.
To provide players with valuable insights into Frostpunk 2’s major changes and gameplay enhancements, the development team has released a new developer commentary video. The Beta access period spans from April 15th to April 22nd, offering players a comprehensive preview of approximately 40 percent of the full Frostpunk 2 experience. Access to the Beta is included with the Frostpunk 2 Digital Deluxe edition, available for pre-order on Steam and the Microsoft Store. Alongside Beta access, the Digital Deluxe edition features three paid post-release DLCs, exclusive early access to the story mode 72 hours before the official release, the “Warm Flesh” digital novella, a digital artbook, and the game’s captivating soundtrack.
While the Beta provides a substantial glimpse into Frostpunk 2’s gameplay and narrative, players can anticipate a plethora of additional content upon the game’s official release on July 25th. Expanded maps and colonies, new factions, increased exploration opportunities, dramatic occurrences, and a robust narrative campaign mode await players as they embark on a journey to shape society and survive in the frozen wastelands of Frostpunk 2.
