There Will Be No Battle Royale in Rage 2 – Confirms Studio Director

Rage 2 will release next year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Developed by Avalanche Studios and id Software, Rage 2 is a mix of borderlands and Mad Max theme. The game adopts first person view through out the gameplay. The game has single play story mode as well as online multiplayer.

A recent trend of battle royale adaptation has stormed many games. Call of Duty Black Ops 4 and Battlefield V are the recent games that has adopted battle royale mode for the first time in the series. Studio Director id Software Tim Willits of Rage 2 has recently made it clear that Rage 2 will not have battle royale mode.

The confirmation comes during a closed event preview of Rage 2. Studio director was asked if Rage 2 will ever adopt battle royale mode. Tim Willits replied sarcastically by saying:

… we don’t have Battle Royale in “Rage 2” – unless you go the store and there is only one copy of “Rage 2″ remaining and many people want to buy it!

Tim Willits further puts emphasis on creating a best single player that gives more fun, more replay value. He also said that he wants players to hook up on Rage 2 for hundred of hours. The original Rage game received well mainly due to its single player aspect and now developers want to capture the same experience for Rage 2.

The original Rage released in 2011 and now Rage 2 will release after eight years. The last game released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The graphics were pretty decent for that time. The Rage 2 will utilize the graphics of current generation of consoles.
