Developer and publisher Anvil Game Studios has announced that its viral multiplayer shooter Holdfast: Nations at War is now available on consoles, including PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Released on PC via Steam back in 2020, Holdfast: Nations at War has managed to attract thousands of players since its original Early Access release, which was nearly a decade ago. With the title now setting its sights on consoles, its community is about to expand a lot more as a whole new generation of players will now be able to experience this brutal World War I shooter on their consoles.

Holdfast: Nations at War offers over 150 players on a server, and the console release will support complete crossplay between PC and console players. The scale of war is about to become even grander. Offering additional features like the ability to switch to either first-person view or third-person view, battle across different eras like the Napoleonic Wars and World War I, and different roles in each battle, Holdfast: Nations at War certainly deserves the praise that its PC Steam release has received over the past few years. The game also has proximity chat, allowing players to speak with other players closer to them.
Holdfast: Nations at War offers a lot to players of every type. Whether you like playing casual shooters, who a hardcore roleplaying fan who wants to take on specific roles and play them out on your terms, or even an FPS pro who wants to show off his shooting skills, the game offers something for everyone.
Key features of the game include:
- The Holdfast Community: Roleplaying features such as proximity chat bring the community together. From full-on clans to players looking to capture hilarious moments and go viral, the battlefront is full of characters.
- Battle Across Eras: Large-scale battles take you to the Napoleonic Wars or into WWI, where you can embark aboard warships, hunker down in trenches, or defend town squares from the oncoming assault.
- Battlefield Roles: There are 27 total roles to choose from in Holdfast: Nations At War. Be a typical soldier or prove yourself as a leader in an officer capacity. Fight side by side with your fellow riflemen, repel enemy forces on horseback, or even man the artillery.
- Customization & Progression: Show off your achievements on the battlefield with over 100+ unlockable cosmetics, including headwear, backpacks, melee weaponry, gestures, and more.
- Warring Nations: There are eight factions you can pledge your allegiance to. Fight for the British Empire, French Empire, Kingdom of Prussia, Russian Empire, Austrian Empire, Kingdom of Italy, and the Central or Allied Powers.
Holdfast: Nations At War is now available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for just $19.99, and it is already available on PC via Steam. The console only has Standard Edition, but if you want more from the game, you can purchase the Deluxe Edition on the PC via Steam and gain access to the content in the console version as well. All DLC is available right at launch for the consoles.
