SOEDESCO has announced Truck Driver – Premium Edition for next-gen consoles, including PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Truck Driver – Premium Edition will release on September 30, 2021, on all next-gen consoles, and it will include the base game as well as all of the DLCs released for the previous-gen versions of Truck Driver. It will be released both digitally and physically.
SOEDESCO has not detailed how much ‘upgraded’ this Premium Edition will be; however, the press release states that the trailers, trucks, and cargoes have been remodeled to work with next-gen consoles. This might mean that the game is a simple port with a few remodels here and there to support the next-gen consoles, and we might not actually see true next-gen features in the game.
One thing that the developer has mentioned is that it will also include the newly announced Nordic-inspired expansion map, along with all other DLCs. Other DLCs for Truck Driver include the Paint Jobs’ DLCs and the damage system introduced in the Hidden Places & Damage System DLC. This DLC includes a detailed damage system along with three hidden locations and five new AI vehicles.
Key features of the Premium Edition include:
- Truck Driver base game
- Paint Jobs DLCs
- Hidden Places & Damage System DLC
- Heading North map DLC
- 10 new tracks added to the OST
It is important to note here that a PC version of Truck Driver is also in the works however we currently do not know its release date. With the Truck Driver – Premium Edition, Truck Driver will be available on all consoles including both previous-gen consoles, PS4 and Xbox One, and next-gen consoles, the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game was previously released on Nintendo Switch as well, so Nintendo Switch players are not left behind.
