Indie developer OMYOG and publisher tinyBuild have announced a 2025 release window for their upcoming dino FPS Ferocious. The announcement was made during gamescom 2025 as part of GameStar’s Find Your Next Game showcase, and attending players were also able to get their hands on the game’s demo on the show floor. With its release confirmed for PC via Steam this winter, we can now look forward to experiencing the game’s relentless wilderness and brutal combat as seen in its brand-new trailer. Check it out:
Ferocious is set on a dangerous island that is filled with mercenaries, bloodthirsty dinosaurs, and plenty of other creatures. After suffering from a shipwreck, you wake up on the island and start looking for your brother, but things quickly change when you figure out that the island is not as beautiful and serene as it seems. It is filled with danger, and you must do everything you can to survive. Ferocious might look like your average island survival game, but it goes ahead with a solid FPS system in place. The gunfights in the game are intense and brutal, and there is plenty of ammo and weapons lying around, which is similar to most FPS titles out there in the market.
Ferocious combines both survival and FPS mechanics to deliver a mix of both genres, and after trying out its demos, we can say that it works wonderfully. Key features of Ferocious are described as:
- Survival of the Fittest – If you want to survive, you’ll have to use every weapon you can get your hands on. Pistols, shotguns, rifles, knives, and spears make up only a fraction of your arsenal. It’s kill or be killed, so make sure you’re the last one standing!
- Face Off Against Dinosaurs, Shadowy Organizations & Other Horrors – Shoot your way through an army of mercenaries working for Manifesto, a mysterious organization with equally hidden motivations. Take aim at many fierce, ravenous dinosaurs waiting for the chance to rip your throat out. The island has a way of making your worst nightmares a reality.
- Fight Your Own Battles or Have The Dinos Do Your Dirty Work – You can choose to dispatch brutal, bloody vengeance against the island’s many terrors yourself. Or you can control – er, ask – one of the dinos to take your foes out or even open unreachable doors for you!
Ferocious is slated for a PC Steam release this winter for $24.99, and you can add the game to your wishlist right now. You can also try a brand-new demo for the game through its Steam page, which gives you a good idea of what you can expect from the full game when it comes out later this year.
