THQ Nordic has announced the creation of a brand-new Czech-based studio Ashborne Games which is currently working on a brand-new IP. Ashborne Studio consists of industry veterans who have worked on titles such as the Mafia franchise, the ArmA: Armed Assault franchise, Silent Hill: Downpour, Vigor, and the UFO-trilogy including UFO: Aftermath, UFO: Aftershock, and UFO: Afterlight.
The new studio is now focused on laying the groundwork for a brand-new strategy/RPG IP while also supporting Comanche in its early access phase, along with the game preview. Karel Kališ, Studio Game Director at Ashborne Games said:
Our focus and passion lie in strategy and RPG games. Our goal as a team is to create an authentic gaming experience with sophisticated systems that encourage repeated playthroughs. We believe that’s something that’s really missing on the market.
Currently, the studio has 38 team members however the studio is looking to expand its team and for this very purpose, different open positions are currently listed on the developer’s official website’s Career Page along with their LinkedIn profile. The studio is targeting Unreal Engine 4 for its titles and will be using the engine’s strengths and the team’s expertise to grow and expand the scope of the Strategy and RPG genre.

THQ Nordic or Ashborne Games has not shared any details of its new project which the new studio is currently on apart from the fact that it is a strategy/RPG title. While the studio might be working on the new IP, it will also now support THQ Nordic’s helicopter combat title Comanche, which is currently available in early access, towards its full release.
