The Witcher 3 Might Be Coming for Players on Nintendo Switch

The Witcher 3

The Witcher 3 is undeniably the best game to have come out in the series. The vast open world of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt took over by storm when it released back in 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Several leaks now suggest that the game would soon make its way to the Nintendo Switch.

The rumor or leak came from a user on ResetEra who found evidence suggesting the game’s port on multiple Asian websites and citing a September release date and Asia-exclusive Chinese Language localization.

One of the listings from the Chinese retailers reads, “Breaking! Witcher 3 GOTY Edition is coming to Switch in September.” According to the user, the game has been listed by numerous sellers on the Chinese retail platform Taobao. It also describes the port of the game’s Game of the Year edition, which includes both Blood and Wine and Hearts of Stone expansions.

While we have to take the rumor with a grain of salt, the game itself on the Nintendo Switch is not impossible. Especially considering that with a lot of tweaking, the Nintendo Switch has already hosted some of the very demanding games. We have already seen games from Bethesda like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Doom on the Switch and have been quite enjoyable considering that it is being played on a handheld device.

However, there would be some catch to it, as The Witcher 3 is drastically superior in visuals and focuses on its gorgeous large open world areas and areas that can even push the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to its limit. If the game does come to the Switch, it would certainly have to be heavily downgraded for it to work. Still, it is not impossible and considering how Nintendo Switch has been doing over the recent month. The console owners have demanded more titles that are available on other platforms, and Nintendo is trying their best to bring out such titles.
