The King of Fighters XIV Could be Coming for Nintendo Switch

The most popular SNK fighting series The King of Fighters XIV could be coming for the Nintendo Switch according to the producer of SNK. SNK has been providing a lot of its old retro experiences to the Nintendo Switch, including the upcoming release of the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection.

In a recent interview to DualShockers, SNK Producer Yasuyuki Oda was asked about the chances of the Japanese company bringing the newest entry in the King of Fighters to the Nintendo Switch. To which Oda simply replied that “It would definitely be a possibility”.

With Heroines and the 40th Anniversary Collection on the Switch, I asked Oda-san if the team was considering a port of The King of Fighters XIV on Nintendo’s console. There are some technical hurdles to clear to make sure that the game would perform well, but if those could be solved, it “would definitely be a possibility.” There are internal talks about The King of Fighters XV, but it’s “really super-super early” and nothing has been decided at this time. It’s not even in pre-production.

SNK is currently working on releasing it upcoming 40th anniversary collection which is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. The collection will come with a compilation of some 40 games that have been the developer’s most iconic, and classic Arcade titles. SNK will also be releasing SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy.
