Prima Games, a strategy guide maker that has been publishing physical and digital copies of guides for games, has announced to be closing its doors. The report came from Publishers Lunch which confirmed this news that the guide making company will end operations by spring 2019.

During a year-long extensive review, many new ways were explored to diversify Prima Games publishing. However, the dynamics for us of this fast-paced landscape have continued to prove difficult.
This enormously dedicated team has made every effort to turn the business around, but challenging market conditions have unfortunately worked against them.
The offices of Prima Games that are located in Roseville, New York City, California, and Indianapolis, will begin their closure by this month. The first office to begin closing is Roseville, in the coming weeks, while the last is Indianapolis which is to close by spring 2019.
Prima Games was established back in 1990 by founders Rusel DeMaria and Ben Dominitiz. It created a collection of game secrets books covering a range of console format games, which eventually went on to produce over 1,400 strategy guides over the course of 28 years.
While it is sad to see Prima Games close its doors, it is really hard to beat free information that is available so easily on the internet. There is no competing with free guides that are being given elsewhere. But, Prima Games has given out beautiful physical guides over the years which are memorable in a way.
Prima Games was known for its Physical guides over the years, but to compete with the likes of IGN and GameFaqs and their free guides online, Prima tried to counter that by selling digital guides for a little price. But it was not enough to overcome the sheer traffic that these other websites were getting.
