Earlier in the week, Skybound Games announced that it would be hosting a Reddit AMA that would focus on the Walking Dead: The Final Season. In the AMA, a lot of question were answered, and some indicating that the company expects to release the third Episode of the game this year.
The company’s CEO Ian Howe said that the Episode 3 and 4 are at a standstill, while new dates for the episodes will be announced as soon as possible, with Howe adding that there is no reason to hold back information from the fans. The most he said about the release for the third episode was that the episode would arrive between now and the end of the year:
OK, given that you guys have been so supportive and patient, I’m going out on a limb and will say yes, I fully expect Episode 3 to be this year and I’ll be very disappointed if we can’t make that happen.
At this stage, we’re still in discussions with various members of the team and I met over 40 of them last week to discuss our plans moving forwards. They know what we’re trying to do and as soon as the lawyers have done their thing, we’ll be able to speak more openly
Ian Howe also confirmed that while episode three was on the way, episode four is still in the works as the production was only recently started. There also some fortunate news about Telltale staff members who are in talks with Skybound Games and are eager to return and complete the season.
Skybound Games The Walking Dead was announced earlier this month as Skybound reached an agreement tp pick up Telltale’s project. The decision was received with mixed reactions from the gaming community, where some where excited for Clementine’s story, while other were concerned over the working conditions and paying severance to those affected by the closure of the Telltale studio.
