After almost forgetting about it, Playground Games has finally announced the second expansion pack for Forza Horizon 5 and it is called Rally Adventure. Fans who have been playing the Forza Horizon franchise for quite some time might remember another expansion called Rally but I am sure this one is a brand-new adventure set in the deserts and dunes of Mexico. The Rally Adventure will further expand on the Rally discipline in Forza Horizon 5 with a brand-new map, and tons of off-road vehicles and you do not have to wait too long to play since it is coming out next month.
Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure will begin where you will sign up with a team. Many of the characters featured in the new expansion include Alex who is leading the team Horizon Raptors, Ramiro is leading the Grit Reapers and Alejandra is leading the Apex Predators. For some weird reason, there is street-style Night Rally and high-speed Asphalt Rally in the game as well which shows that it is simply Forza Horizon 5 in a new map extension since all of this is already in the base game.
After signing up with a team, you will compete in eight races with your team and some PR stunts will be thrown in the mix as well. For the finale, you will take part in an Ambassador Race. Once you have completed a season with all three teams, you will unlock a Goliath Circuit which is some sort of a Forza Horizon ritual that must be completed on every map. Playground Games is claiming that the upcoming expansion Rally Adventure will feature the largest number of racing events in any Horizon expansions released to date.
The events in Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure are not limited to just off-road races because there are plenty of races across asphalt and night areas and the events will range from timed point-to-point Horizon Rally stages to traditional multi-car Horizon Races. One new feature coming to these races is that you will be accompanied by a co-rally driver who will continue to shout rally instructions into your ear because, for some reason, you now need instructions for turning left or right in a Forza game. Even stranger is that this co-driver will not be sitting alongside you but will be following you in a helicopter because why not. He will be lighting up your path with a helicopter light as well because Colin McRae certainly won all-night rallies with a helicopter lighting his path.
Different new HUD elements are now part of the expansion as well which can be toggled on and off and you will have complete control over what you want to see and what you want to turn off in the new expansion. New UI elements include a mini leaderboard showing your position relative to the other drivers who you are competing against along with a notification pop-up that appears at each time split-gate to show whether you maintained, lost, or gained a position. New icons representing pace notes from your helicopter co-pilot will also be shown on the screen as icons.
The Rally Adventure expansion will take place in Sierra Nueva, a brand-new location that Playground Games calls ‘the most extreme off-road adventure ever seen in Forza Horizon 5’. The new map features miles of driving roads with unpredictable turns, steep inclines, blind crests, thrilling asphalt jumps, rugged deformable sand roads interwoven with pre-deformed tire tracks, and much more. As you speed along these paths, you will kick up dust and they will trail for miles as you speed along these roads. Epitaph Radio is making a comeback to Forza Horizon 5 with a new selection of punk soundtrack. Sierra Nueva features locations that suit a variety of players including towns such as Pueblo Artza, a huge, abandoned Quarry for Gymkhana action, Sand Dunes a Desert Gorge, rolling Green Hills, and a Palm Forest that can be smashed to its entirety.
To give players new customization options, Rally Adventure will bring all-new rally parts along with an anti-lag system with new flame effects and fire-cracker sounds. A new assist Launch Control will also be added to the game which will give players more control over their rally machines and achieve that perfect rally launch at the start of each rally event. Apart from vehicle modifications, Rally Adventure will bring new EventLab props to the game as well. These include branded barriers, flags, and civilian vehicles. The new props will be free for all players of the game whether they own the expansion or not.
Finally, no Forza expansion is complete without any new vehicles and Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure is bringing ten all-new Forza vehicles catering to your offroad and rally needs. These include:
2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Premium
1973 Hoonigan Volkswagen Baja Beetle Class 5/1600 ‘Scumbag’
