Publisher 505 Games has announced that its puzzle game Puzzle Quest 3 is launching on consoles next month. Puzzle Quest 3 is the latest installment in the highly successful puzzle RPG franchise and is scheduled for worldwide release on April 18, 2023, on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4. Puzzle Quest 3 arrives on consoles just in time to celebrate the One Year Anniversary since its original release.
Puzzle Quest 3 returns to its origins by recalling the deep RPG mechanics and signature heroic storylines that made the original title a standout in the Match-3 category. In Puzzle Quest 3, you will find unique head-to-head battles that push the boundaries of the genre once again with an intense 1v1 battle system in the 3D world. During its Early Access phase, the developer has released several major changes and new additions to the game based on the feedback collected by the developer during this phase.

This includes a new action points system which includes a deeper focus on head-to-head battles where enemies manipulate the puzzle board and heroes must plan their matches more strategically. The game also received two new hero classes, a brand-new adventure mode, a larger puzzle board, and different seasonal storylines. Different quality-of-life improvements were also implemented in the game such as reduced resource complexity and improved story chest reward rollout based on community feedback.

Puzzle Quest 3 will release as a free-to-play game on April 18, 2023, on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, PS4, and Xbox One. Currently, the game is available on Steam Early Access, App Store and Google Play for free as well. If you decide to play the game on its console launch day, you will be treated with special rewards. The game is currently sitting on Mixed reviews on PC so it is not looking to be in its best shape as of now as a lot of players are pointing out that the game is pretty reliant on locking content behind a paywall.
