Bluehole now joins the winter festive and announces PUBG Winter map titled as ‘Vikendi’. The winter map was announced officially at The Game Awards. The map was showcased along with a trailer. The map will be available first on Test Server at Steam platform starting from tonight.

The trailer does not highlight any significant details of PUBG winter map. Dave Curd from developer PUBG Corp. was present at the event and he mentioned little details as what players can expect from the new map.

According to Dave Curd, players in the new winter map will leave footprints while they walk on snow leaving a trail. This will significantly change the game for sniper as players will find it hard to sit in one spot and aim down sight to shoot from a distance.

He also mentioned that PUBG Winter Map ‘Vikendi’ will also come with snow mobiles and addition of a new weapon for the game. The map will be the first one to feature six by six size. Just in case you missed the trailer showcased at The Game Awards, watch here.

The map is scheduled to release December 19, 2018 first for PC Steam platform. The map will release later in January for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The release date of winter map was announced in tweet.
