Fortnite is nearing the end of its Season 5 and it looks like Epic Games is gearing up to kick-start the next season with some really cool items. A new update 5.50 is coming tomorrow and it looks like it is going to bring some vital changes in the game along with adding a brand new item in the game.
This might be the last update for this season and it might even add some goodies to the game’s base files that will appear in the next season. Official patch notes for the update are not out yet but we have some solid news about what to expect in this new update and a confirmed new item coming to the update tomorrow.
The item in question is Port-a-Fortress, which sounds like an upgraded version of the already in-game item Port-a-Fort. Sounds like Port-a-Fortress is going to be much bigger in size and o counter it, the developers may finally implement the quad launcher which was rumored to come to Battle Royale mode some time ago.
Port-a-Fortress sounds bigger and badder and if you consider the game’s in-game description of the item, ‘Toss down the Port-a-Fortress and take defense to new heights’, you might think of it as a sturdier, bigger and taller version of the Port-a-Fort. It might come with built-in traps and other goodies such as a vending machine.
Building is a very unique mechanic of Fortnite and perhaps the only mechanic that sets it apart from other games in this genre. Items such as Port-a-Fort and Port-a-Fortress are aimed at people who cannot build custom structures quickly and just want a simple solution to building as survival without building is very difficult in the game.
The new game update will hit the servers tomorrow morning so expect a little bit of downtime while the update will go live and players start updating their game.
