Nutty Party Game Save Your Nuts Gets a Release Date, Launching Next Month

Developer Triple Scale Games has announced the release date for its upcoming couch and online party game Save Your Nuts. Save Your Nuts is currently available on Steam in Early Access however the game will leave Early Access and will release on PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch simultaneously on April 16, 2020. A free demo is available right now on Steam if you want to give this game a shot.

The free demo also features a tutorial that teaches you how to play the game in both solo mode with bots as well as local multiplayer. The Montreal based developer describes the game as an accessible yet competitive multiplayer game inspired by the classic struggle of suburban pets and local critters like dogs, squirrels, raccoons, beavers, wolves, and armadillos. Players will get to choose their favorite critter and chase, catch, throw and tackle their way to secure the elusive acorns.

Each character in the game comes with unique abilities such as speed, strength, jump and other special moves giving players a strategic advantage as well as a disadvantage in certain cases. Picking every character will give players advantages as well as disadvantages so players will need to pick them carefully according to their own playstyle. Choosing the wrong type of critter might result in you losing more games than winning so you will need to find your perfect critter.

The game will launch with three different modes including Capture the Nut, Thieves, and Battle. In Capture the Nut, players will try to fight for the single acorn dropped in the arena. In Thieves, players will need to steal the nuts of their enemies while trying to save their own nuts at the same time. In Battle, every player is for himself and will fight to be the last animal with their nuts still intact. These modes will be playable in 10 different arenas right at launch which ranges from castles, ships, and outer space.

Each map will also come with its own unique hazards and power-ups that will allow players to turn the tide of the battle. Locally, the game will allow eight players to compete. This figure is the same for online or even against AI. Players will need to give their very best in order to become the greatest nut defender in the neighborhood. Triple Scale Games founder, Frederic Bobohn says:

We would like to thank our Early Access community; they have really helped us with their feedback so far. This period has been extremely constructive for us. Their suggestions and the improvements we’ve made will help us to launch on Steam with a high-quality game that we can bring to even more people on Xbox and Switch.
