Codemasters has revealed the next title in its racing franchise GRID and it is arriving later this year in Fall 2019. GRID is the fourth title in Codemasters racing sim franchise and it is coming after a long time since the previous one was revealed. Fans of the franchise had lost all hopes about a new GRID title.
The fourth game in the franchise is simply titled GRID however you must not confuse it with the first game in the franchise. The first title in the franchise was named Race Driver: GRID so the fourth title only bears the name GRID. Codemasters has revealed that 2019’s GRID will deliver intense wheel to wheel racing action which will span over four continents of the world.
Players will choose from a diverse variety of cars featuring some of the world’s best Touring, GT, Stock, Muscle, Super-Modified and many more racing disciplines. The game will feature different race types including Circuit, Street Racing, Ovals, Point-to-Point, Hot Laps and World Time Attack set in some of the world’s most famous city streets and race circuits.
It will offer the perfect balance between risk and reward and will cater to a wide variety of racers. The game will feature crisp and incredibly responsive handling with a learning curve that will allow both casual and hardcore simulation racers. As players progress in the game, they will be rewarded with player cards, teammates, liveries, achievements, and accolades. AI drivers in the game will be the best one featured in any GRID game ever.
They will push the players to their limit as they race across the world for the ultimate victory in the GRID World Series Championship. It will also feature the best car damage model to even feature in the franchise as damaging the car will affect the car’s performance and handling. If the player hits an AI racer too much in the race, the AI racer will try its best to exact its revenge during the same race against the player.
For the first time in the franchise ever, one of the best modern-day driver across F1, Endurance and Stock Racing, Fernando Alonso has signed as a Race Consultant and appears in-game as a formidable rival to the player. Players will face his Esports driving team ‘FA Racing’ as well as himself in his Renault R26 F1 car in the final showdown event. This is going to test the true skills of the player.
GRID is slated for release on PS4, Xbox One and PC on September 13, 2019.
