Monster Hunter Movie

Monster Hunter movie was rumored first to be in works back in 2012. This year, Capcom made it official that there is a movie adaptation of the game in works. Paul W. S. Anderson, who is Resident Evil and Event Horizon director will be making the movie adaptation of Monster Hunter.

Few prominent actors that will star in the movie are Milla Jovovich, Diego Boneta, Ron Perlman, and Tony Jaa. Few fans who are well aware of Resident Evil games and its movie adaptation have raised concerns over Paul W. S. Anderson being the movie director of Monster Hunter movie. His Resident Evil movies started just fine but later in the long run they deviated from the game’s concept.

Those concerns will be adhered with time. However, IGN officially unveiled a photo which totally shows that maybe the movie will be on point. According to Capcom, Monster Hunter movie ”tells the story of two heroes who come from different worlds to defeat a shared danger, the powerful, deadly and magnificent monsters that inhabit the land”. Here is the image that certainly verifies the statement of Capcom.

The new photo also reflects credibility on one of the statement that Paul W. S. Anderson mentioned to Deadline in 2016. In his statement he said:

The Monster Hunter world includes these huge deserts that make the Gobi Desert look like a sandbox. We’ve found a way of connecting the Dune-like sand covered world of Monster Hunter with our world. So we’re bringing this massive Japanese game into the world of America

Milla Jovovich plays the role of Captain Natalie Artemis in Monster Hunter movie. She also shared an image on Instagram, showcasing a generic soldier with Grappling hook or tool. Here is the glimpse of her showing off the tool.

It is unclear at this point if the new images will convince enough the fans of Monster Hunter community that the movie adaptation is in good hands. The movie is planned to release in 2020. Fans will need to wait a little longer as 2020 is drawing closer and we may or may not get a teaser trailer in 2019.
