Ancile and Targa battle push your skills further, acting like faster, trickier versions of Egis. While they share some similarities with the earlier fight, their relentless movement and split attacks make this encounter far more challenging, keeping you constantly on edge. This MIO: Memories in Orbit Ancile and Targa Boss Guide details all the tips and tricks you need to defeat Ancile and Targa.
Ancile and Targa Boss Battle Guide – MIO: Memories in Orbit
When you first enter the arena, you will notice one boss standing and seemingly waiting for you to approach. As you get close, another boss will drop from above, signalling the start of the fight. These two are Ancile and Targa, and their opening move sets the tone for their relentless battle.
When the battle starts, you will notice that they are not attacking you, which means you need to attack them first, a few times, to activate them. Ancile and Targa are not always active on the field together. When they do appear at the same time, their movements are usually synced, which makes the situation easier to read. In these moments, it is best to pick one target and stick with it rather than switching back and forth, as both enemies tend to act in similar ways.
One of their signature moves involves placing a hand on the ground, teleporting to opposite sides of the arena, and then leaping down at an angle. You can avoid this by jumping behind one of them and attacking from behind while they are in mid-animation.
In another attack, both bosses pause briefly and then vanish into the ground. One of them immediately reappears and charges straight toward you, while the other drops from above and slams into the ground. To avoid the first boss, jump over it and move to its back, and avoid the second boss by stepping out of its path. Don’t rush to attack the first boss, as the second one will closely follow from above. After this, both bosses disappear again and reappear, but the attack order is reversed: first, a boss jumps down and slams, and then the other moves forward with its attack. They repeat this sequence three times in a row.
The real difficulty comes when they split up. When separated, their movement becomes harder to track, and you get almost no breathing room. They stay aggressive, moving quickly and leaving few safe moments to relax.
Some attacks involve one boss disappearing while the other slams its arm toward you, jump behind to avoid damage, then prepare for the second to appear from behind with almost no room to maneuver. One of their recurring moves during this phase is a high jump followed by a rapid, angled ground slam, which can hit hard if you are not paying attention.
When Ancile and Targa reach roughly one-third of their combined health, they pause briefly before disappearing and reappearing at the far end of the arena. They then perform a series of three aerial slams in a row, forcing you to remain alert and dodge each carefully.
Final Tips to Defeat Ancile and Targa
Overall, this fight tests endurance and focus more than anything else. Staying alert, repositioning often, and waiting for clean openings is far more effective than trying to force attacks. Ancile and Targa can be defeated without losing control, despite their relentless pace.
