Madden NFL 20 Gameplay Revealed, New Face of the Franchise Campaign Mode

EA has just revealed the gameplay of Madden NFL 20 at the EA Play event. While most of the event focused on the already announced changes fans can expect in the next title of the Madden series, EA also shows gameplay footage that gives a good idea of what’s next.

Madden 20 was already confirmed to be releasing on 2 August 2019 and will come with early access via the EA Access and the Superstar and Ultimate Editions of the game. the game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Madden 20 comes with a real career mode that is making a comeback to the Madden series. A new mode called Face of the Franchise: QB1 Mode will allow you to create a quarterback and take him through the college football career, the Draft, and you can even diversify and create potentially unique storylines and scenarios. This is a great addition to the game, as will give the character more personality as opposed to the previous games where you could create and control players, but there was no real connection with the player beyond having your name on them.

With this new character arc, you can play college football and go on to win the National Championship if you are lucky. This would essentially be the best way to start the career of your player starting from their early days in the sport.

Another change coming in Madden 20 as opposed to the previous game is that it will make the Superstar or elite players will feel much better and stronger compared to the mid-tier players. In the previous versions of the game.

Zone Ability

  • Bazooka – When in the zone, increase maximum pass distance
    • Objective: Complete a TBD-number of passes over 30-yards
    • Knock-Out: Interception or sack

Superstar Abilities

  • No Look Deadeye – Perfect passing accuracy on cross-body throws
  • Escape Artist – Elite speed and agility when scrambling on passing plays
  • Dashing Deadeye – Perfect passing accuracy when throwing on the run
  • Red Zone Deadeye – Perfect passing accuracy when throwing inside the red zone

Julian Edelman – WR, Patriots

Superstar Ability

  • Slot-O-Matic – Excels at route running and contested catches when running routes from a Slot receiver position

Another thing to come with a bit of an upgrade is the Ultimate Team in Madden 20, which is one of the most popular game modes in the series. The mode now features Missions.  That will provide new items and rewards. These challenges will be like earning 25 Series Trophies that you have to complete to acquire the players or items you are looking for.
