Supermassive Games Reveals Little Hope Release Date, Details

After the successful release of the first title Man of the Medan in The Dark Pictures Anthology, Supermassive Games has now revealed additional details about the second game Little Hope including its release date. The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope is slated for release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 30, 2020. Little Hope comes with its own unique story and characters and is set in the creepy and strange town of Little Hope.

The game’s story features four college students and their college teacher who are stuck in the isolated town of Little Hope after their bus crashes in bad weather. They are surrounded by a mysterious fog as they search desperately to escape the haunted town as visions from the past haunt them from the shadows. As the party witnesses, the town’s gruesome past and the terrible events of the 17th Century Witch trials, hellish beings pursue them while they look for the escape.

Similar to the first game, each and everyone in the game can die or live depending on your choices in major key points of the game. Your decisions will play an important role in the game. Series Director & Executive Producer, Supermassive Games, Pete Samuels details over at the Playstation Blog that their key inspirations for Little Hope were The Witch, Season of the Witch, and Blair Witch. However, certain influences also lead towards Hellbound Heart, Hellraiser, It Follows, and The Omen along with other works by Barker.

The lead role in Little Hope is being played by Will Poulter along with a diverse cast of great actors alongside him. He plays Andrew in the game. The developers at Supermassive have been listening to fan feedback as well and catering to that, fans will find many welcoming additions and changes in Little Hope. Some of these include context-sensitive icons in the world and QTE alerts that will warn players of upcoming QTE events in the game.

If you forgot what the franchise is all about, The Dark Pictures Anthology is a series of standalone cinematic horror games where each game comes with its own unique story, setting, and characters. The game offers multiple story endings where each ending is determined by different choices that you make throughout the playthrough of the story. The game supports single and multiplayer with up to two players as well as a 5-player couch co-op Movie Night mode.

Apart from the game details, Supermassive has also revealed the different versions of the game that players will be able to purchase that come with various digital and physical goodies for the hardcore fans of the game. Pre-orders are now live across all platforms for The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope and all pre-orders of the game will receive early access to the Curator’s Cut of the game which will allow you to play previously unavailable scenes with different characters.
