GOG has announced on its official blog that the store is removing all the remaining Telltale titles from its digital store next month. Some of the titles were removed for sale earlier but now it seems that all remaining titles that still remained on sale on GOG are also getting axed next week.
GOG mentions that the reason behind the removal of all Telltale titles from the store is the studio’s closure. We all remember that last year, Telltale Games announced its abrupt closure which really shook the video game industry. It showed the world that things are never as good as they might appear on the surface.
There was no prior information about Telltale’s bad financial situation. The developer even hired a new workforce a few days before the closure. The sudden closure also led to concerns about their last title The Walking Dead: The Final Season which was left in the middle and people had already paid for the entire game.
According to the official post, the following Telltale titles will be removed from the GOG store next week.
- The Wolf Among Us
- Marvel’s Guardian of the Galaxy
- Hector: Badge of Carnage
- The Batman Series
- Sam & Max Series
- Puzzle Agent Series
- Tales from the Borderlands
- Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People
Despite these games being removed for future sales, everyone who has purchased any of these titles prior to them being removed from the store will still have access to their purchased titles. Their access to their purchase will not be removed even after the removal of the titles from the store so if you have purchased the games, you have nothing to worry about.
