General Raam is the final boss in Gears of War: Reloaded, and while there are many different bosses in Gears of War: Reloaded before General Raam, this one takes the cake. General Raam is a tough boss battle even on easier difficulties. This is partly because General Raam can take a lot of beating, and he is also covered in Krill, which makes him immune to any damage until you remove them with explosives. General Raam Boss Battle Guide – Gears of War: Reloaded

First thing you should know is that this boss battle requires patience. There is no rushing this boss battle unless you want to get killed. Before the boss battle arena, there is a train cart that has some weapons. Make sure you have full grenades and Torque Bow with you because this will make this boss battle much more manageable. These strategies will work for all difficulty levels in the game.

Lancer/Longshot and Torque Bow/Grenade Combo Method

This is perhaps the most common method of taking out General Raam. General Raam receives the most damage on his head, so you will need to remove the Krill first with explosives and then shoot at his head. As soon as the battle begins, General Raam will be in the middle of the train cart, and you will be on one side. There are some blockades up ahead that you can use for cover. Pick one and hide behind it, and use your Torque Bow to land a precise hit. Once it explodes, the Krill will fly away, and General Raam will be open to damage.

Use your primary weapon, Lancer or Longshot, whichever you picked for this battle, and unload on the boss’s head. Longshot works better because it deals a higher amount of damage per shot. With Lancer, you also need to continue aiming at the head because the boss will continue coming towards you. Once the Krill comes back, return to the Torque Bow and lander another explosive hit. Repeat this process while staying in cover, and ultimately, you will kill General Raam.

If you prefer using Grenades, you will need to wait until General Raam comes fairly close to you so that it is a confirmed hit, and once the Krill go away, unload your primary the Raam’s head. This strategy is easier in co-op mode because one player can focus on the Krill while the other focuses on the Head once the Krill are gone. This boss battle is easiest to complete in co-op mode.

Troika Exploit

If you can manage to reach the end of the cart, you will find a Troika placement in the middle of the train cart. While it deals massive damage, you will need to run past General Raam and his Krill in order to get here. The train is lit, but some areas are dark, so if you are in these dark areas, the Krill will leave General Raam and come towards you. Near the turret is the biggest dark zone, so you will need to be very quick to reach the turret. The turret has a light over it, so once you arrive here, you are safe from the Krill. Once you mount the turret, aim for General Raam and unload everything you have.

Potential Cover Exploit

Sometimes General Raam stops moving if you remain in cover at the start of the boss fight. There are two white stones behind which you can hide, so remain here, do not move to another cover, and once General Raam comes right next to the cover. It will either stop moving or move around it to try and hit you. At this point, you can just keep rotating around this same stone while shooting continuously with the Lancer, or once he is on the opposite side, make a run towards the Troika gun emplacement.
