Playground Games, Turn10 Studios, and Xbox Game Studios have officially announced Forza Horizon 6, and its location is set in Japan. Japan has been one of the most requested locations for a Forza Horizon game for a long time. Every community that I am currently part of wanted the next Forza to be in Japan, and this was after the first Forza Horizon game. Being a fan of the franchise myself, this is indeed a dream come true because Japan is one of the most unique car cultures in the world and offers some of the most iconic vehicles in every category.

While the Tokyo Game Show 2025 teaser trailer for Forza Horizon 6 does not reveal much about the game, it surely confirms the location of the game as it shows Mount Fuji and its surrounding locations. In a supplementary blog post, Xbox has detailed that Forza Horizon 6 will continue its tradition and will include the entire country of Japan, shrunk to a compact map. It will feature the most prominent locations from the country in each of its corners and everything in between, combined to form a single map.
Forza Horizon 6’s Art Director, Don Arceta, and Cultural Consultant Kyoko Yamashita were brought on board to make the game as close to Japanese culture as possible. Forza Horizon 6 will include the neon lights and towering buildings of Tokyo City, as well as Japan’s rural and mountain areas. Arceta and his team travelled to Japan to capture the culture in its true essence. This goes for vehicles as well.
Coming to the cars, none were represented in the teaser trailer, but Arceta details that Forza Horizon 6’s car list will be as diverse as Japan’s actual car culture, which spans over its widely popular Kei cars and vans, along with precision motorsport, drifting’s roots, and a unique customization passion. A dynamic weather system is also present, which will include the iconic Sakura season in which cherry blossoms bloom across the country.
Additional details about the game will be revealed in 2026, including a proper gameplay reveal. It is worth noting that Forza Horizon 6 is skipping PS5 at launch and will only release on Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and Windows Store.
