Fortnite Season 9 is Here With Many Changes, Neo Tilted, Mega Mall, Pump Shotgun Vaulted

Fortnite Season 9

Season 9 of Fortnite is finally here, and it comes with many changes in the battle royale game. A new video was also released by Epic Games, that showcased the Battle Pass items, and the skins we get as rewards from the Battle Pass.

The first thing to notice is that Tilted Towers has returned, though it is completely new and futuristic. Tilted Towers wasn’t gone long since it was destroyed last week in the vault event of Season 6. The revamped futuristic location is now called Neo Tilted, that features newer and bigger brighter lit buildings, many new secret areas, and the multi-leveled maze of corridors.

Another new location is the Mega Mall, which comes in place of Retail Row. This is a massive makeover that Retail Row has gotten, returning as Mega Mall. The new area is huge compared to the older version of the area and is a mall, that you can explore with many shops inside. Just like Neo Tilted, you can expect many secret areas in the mall and the surrounding points of interest in Mega Mall.

A new movement mechanic has also been introduced called Slipstreams. These heavily populate Mega Mall, and other locations. These newly introduced items are a ring of vents that allow players to fly through and launch in the air. The work the same as Volcano Vents that were present in the previous season.

Players can use these Slipstreams to zip around the map as they are launched out of the end of the stream from the ring. Interestingly, vehicles and projectiles can also move through these Slipstreams. As mentioned before, they can be found near all the points of interests abundantly, allowing you to use them quite often. And no, you will not take any fall damage from using them.

Last and not least, a new item has been introduced in Fortnite called the Fortbytes. These are a type of collectible that looks like computer chips that you can find all around the map, hidden inside houses or attics, or bunkers, etc. As you collect Fortbytes, you’ll decrypt a mysterious image. Collect them all to unlock rewards and uncover the secrets of Season 9.

On the first day of Season 9, there are 18 Fortbytes available to find. At least 1 new Fortbyte will be unlocked each day. Check the Challenges Tab for detailed information on which Fortbytes are currently available and when the others unlock. Fortbytes will only be available to players that have the Battle Pass.

In addition to the new areas and new items, many weapons have been vaulted in Season 9, and that includes the Pump Shotgun. Instead, we are now given a Combat Shotgun that is semi-automatic and holds 10 rounds of shells. Pump Shotgun was a favorite among many if not all players and would be interesting to see how players to react to the vaulting of the weapon.

Pump Shotgun is not the only weapon to be vaulted, there are many other weapons and explosive devices that have been vaulted. This includes Clingers, Grenades, Buried Treasure, Poison Dart Trap, Scoped Revolver, Suppressed Assault Rifle, Thermal Assault Rifle, Balloons, and of course Pump Shotgun.
