Fast & Furious 8 Director to Make a Saints Row Movie

F. Gary Gray who is the director of Fast & Furious 8 and Straight Outta Compton is planning to direct a movie based on Saints Row. This was reported by Deadline who also stated that the writer of the movie is Greg Russo who is currently writing the script of Warner Bros. Mortal Kombat reboot and the upcoming Resident Evil reboot.

Gray has just wrapped up his work on the Men in Black: International and it seems like he is in no mood for rest. Men in Black: International is slated for release in June 2019. Also, Saints Row is not the only video game in Gray’s list for movie adaptations. Earlier in January, his company Fenix Studio acquired the rights to Echo, a 2017 stealth video game, to develop a feature film for it.

The movie will be a co-production between Koch Films, Occupant Entertainment, and Fenix Studio. From Fenix Studios, Gary Glushon will be overseeing the project. From Koch Films, Stefan Kapelari and Moritz Peters will be the producers while Felipe Marino and Joe Neurauter are the producers for Occupant.

Saints Row is an open-world wacky shooter game which follows the footsteps of GTA but adds a lot of unique and wacky mechanics in the mix. Saints Row is one of the most fun to play open-world games. The title spans over 5 titles in the franchise with the fourth title introducing superpowers in the franchise making the game even more fun.
