After just a month of release, Square Enix has launched a huge discount on Shadow of the Tomb Raider which has made early buyers of the game very angry and now the game is getting a lot of negative reviews on Steam.
The game went on sale in the last week and after that, many angry fans have been leaving negative reviews on the game’s page who pre-ordered the game or purchased right at launch for full price. Fans are angry that if Square Enix was to give such a huge discount on the game this early, they could have waited as well.
These negative reviews also mention of some bugs which have arisen after the latest game review but it looks like most of these negative reviews are left by angry buyers who purchased the game for full prices at launch or pre-ordered the game.
In the sale, the base version of the game has 34% off while the Croft Edition of the game is at astonishing 47% off which comes with the season pass and many other goodies of the game. Most of the users who left negative reviews are stating that they are never buying another Square Enix game while one of them even said that he will even eat shit if he touches a Square Enix game again.
Coming to the game, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a solid title in the franchise and certainly good enough to be the last one in the franchise. We enjoyed the game and we consider it as the best ending to the franchise that it could have received. To give negative reviews to the game just because it went on sale early is a bad practice.
Let’s hope that Valve comes out with a solution that prevents such negative review bombing of the games in the future because of meaningless issues.
