Everything Announced at gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live – Black Ops 7, Black Myth: Zhong Kui, Ghost of Yotei, More

gamescome 2025 Opening Night Live Show

Gamescom 2025 has officially kicked off with its Opening Night Live Show hosted by Geoff Keighley and Eefje ‘Sjokz’ Depoortere. The 2-hour show was packed with new trailers, release date announcements, and brand-new information about some of the biggest upcoming releases and a few already released titles, like a Monster Hunter Wilds crossover with Final Fantasy XIV Online. If you missed the show, we have compiled everything below in this feature, so let’s dive straight into it.

Hollow Knight: Silksong

The show kicked off with an announcement that Hollow Knight: Silksong is playable at gamescom 2025, and if you are attending the show physically in Cologne, Germany, you can try it out all throughout the weekend at the Nintendo and Xbox booth. The show featured a brief gameplay teaser, with a full reveal scheduled for this Thursday, August 21, 2025. Hollow Knight: Silksong is officially releasing in 202,5 with a confirmed release date coming soon.

Call of Duty Black Ops 7

The next Call of Duty title is Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and it is launching on November 14, 2025. A detailed Call of Duty event is taking place later in September 2025, which will fully reveal the game’s Zombies mode, Online game modes, and other elements, but at the ONL, we got to see the first official look at the game with plenty of trailers and a developer interview as well. We got to see its World Premiere Trailer, a detailed interview with its developers, along with a Co-Op Campaign Trailer. Check them out:

Lords of the Fallen II

CI Games officially announced Lords of the Fallen II, the next title in the reboot series of the Lords of the Fallen franchise. It is slated for a 2026 release on PC via Epic Games Store, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Wishlists are now open through the official stores across all platforms. Check out its trailer:

Sekiro: No Defeat

The award-winning game by FromSoftware, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, is getting an anime show exclusively on Crunchyroll soon. Directed by Kenichi Kutsuna, the anime is called Sekiro: No Defeat and features a gorgeous art style. We have linked its trailer below:

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a brand-new LEGO Batman game by TT Games, and it comes nearly three years after the previous LEGO Star Wars game. The new game is being developed by TT Games, Warner Bros. Games, and DC, and it will arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. Check out its trailer:

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV

King Art Games and Deep Silver have officially announced Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV, the next chapter in the Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War series. It will feature four starting factions, and it is slated for release in 2026 on PC via Steam. Check out its World Premiere Trailer:

Monster Hunter Wilds Crossover with Final Fantasy XIV Online

Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy XIV are getting crossover events with each other in both titles. As part of this new crossover, Monster Hunter Wilds content will arrive in Final Fantasy XIV Online, and Final Fantasy XIV Online content will arrive in Monster Hunter Wilds. The developers of Monster Hunter Wilds took to the stage to share some details with us. Check out the trailers below:

Onimusha: Way of the Sword

We also got a brand-new trailer for Capcom’s upcoming brutal sword-fighting game Onimusha: Way of the Sword. It is slated for release in 2026 on PS5, PC via Steam, and Xbox Series X|S. Check it out:

Arknights Endfield

Slated for release on PS5, Windows PC, App Store, and Google Play, Arknights Endfield also showcased a new trailer:

Fallout Season 2

Fallout Season 2 arrives December 2026 on Amazon Prime, and its cast took to the stage during ONL 2025 to share their thoughts on the upcoming season and also brought a first-look trailer at what we can expect from it when it arrives later this year.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – The Order of Giants

The upcoming DLC, The Order of Giants, arrives on September 4, 2025, for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, while the base game is also launching on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026. The Order of Giants will arrive on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud, PC via Steam, and PS5.

Marvel Deadpool VR

We got a brand-new trailer for Marvel Deadpool VR that showcased the villains that we will be able to fight in the game when it launches on November 18, 2025, on Meta Quest 3 and 3S. Check it out:

World of Tanks 2.0

Wargaming revealed the biggest update coming to World of Tanks in the form of 2.0. It is launching September 1, 2025, in the APAC region and September 3, in the EU and NA regions. Check it out:

John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando

We got a detailed look at John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando with a gameplay trailer. It is slated for release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC digitally in 2026. Wishlists are now open across all platforms. Check out the brutal trailer:

Legendary game designer Ron Gilbert is teaming up with MicroProse to release a brand-new game, Death By Scrolling. Additional details about the game will be announced later, but we have a World Premiere Trailer for you right now:

The developers behind Disco Elyseum showcased their brand-new cRPG called Zero Parades. It is coming on PC via Steam. No additional details were revealed at the show.

The Darkest Files
