Evan's Remains

Evan’s Remains is a wonderful mystery adventure game by sole developer Matías Schmied and publisher Whitethorn Digital. The developer has officially launched the project on Kickstarter where fans are absolutely loving the game so far and the game is inching closer to is funding goal which will allow the developer to complete the development of this wonderful mystery adventure.

In Evan’s Remains, you play as a girl named Dysis who stumbles upon a strange island which was apparently inhabited in search of a genius named Evan who has gone missing. She finds another boy on the island who has his own motives to be on the island but agrees to help Dysis in her search for Evan.

The game features excellent narrative-driven visual novel elements while combining them with brain-tingling puzzles. Players will be required to use logic in order to solve multiple puzzles in the game and clearing them will also require some platforming here and there. Visually, the game features pixel graphics which go really well with the overall setting of the title.

Lead developer Matías Schmied said:

Evan’s Remains tries to convey a strong feeling of mystery and to leave the player wondering – just what is really going on here? Like its inspirations – Ace Attorney, Ghost Trick, Danganronpa, Yume Nikki, and many others – we hope players will feel a profound sense of satisfaction as they slowly piece together the narrative.

The game at this point is in pretty early development stages but it feels solid. The short demo that I played of the game really shows that the developer has gone through each and every little mechanic in detail. The puzzles are straight forward and also challenging to a certain extent. If you are good in logic based video games, Evan’s Remains will not disappoint you.
