E3 2020 is rumored to be canceled according to multiple sources. ESA still has to announce it officially however a lot of credible sources online have been claiming since last night that E3 2020 has been canceled in wake of the coronavirus spread. According to these sources, the official news will arrive sometime today by ESA itself so we just have to wait and see.
Devolver Digital was one of the companies who tweeted informing people to cancel their E3 flights and hotels which was later confirmed by Patrick Klepek who is a senior reporter at Vice Games at the same Tweet. Kotaku’s Jason Schreier also commented that he has been hearing some whispers from different developers and publishers that E3 2020 has been canceled.
Jason also stated that ESA is still consulting with different publishers so you never know. It is natural that developers and publishers are the very first people to get to know if E3 2020 has been canceled because they have to make necessary arrangements for their shows and presentations. Devolver Digital was the first developer to announce about E3 2020’s cancellation.
You can check out the different tweets highlighting E3 2020’s cancellation below.
Cancel your E3 flights and hotels, y’all.

Been hearing secondhand whispers tonight from several devs/pubs that E3 is cancelled, although I've also heard from a couple of people in positions to know that the ESA hasn't officially made a decision yet and is still consulting with pubs. Either way, it's only a matter of time https://t.co/Od0MDj3ZXv

My day started with investigating some E3 stuff. Ended with multiple (and I mean MULTIPLE) sources coming my way.
E3 cancelation announcement scheduled for tmw AM. I don’t think it will hold the night. Many of us have been engaged by sources this evening.

If ESA does decide to cancel E3, this will be the first time the biggest entertainment expo to get canceled since it started. E3 started back in 1995 when the first-ever E3 was held at Los Angeles Convention Center. It has since then grown into the world’s biggest entertainment expo held every year and today, nearly all of the developers and publishers working in the entertainment industry look forward to displaying their work to their massive fanbase.
We already know that Sony is not planning to attend this year’s E3 as well however Microsoft announced that it will be present at the event. Similarly, many other companies were also looking forward to the event such as Nintendo, Ubisoft, Bethesda, Square-Enix, Take-Two Interactive and many more. With the official announcement of the E3 2020 cancellation hanging in the thread, we can only wait and see what ESA decides about the event. Hopefully, the status will be confirmed later today.
