Novaquark Announced Dual Universe Space Station Building Contest Winners

Dual Universe Beta

Novaquark, the developer of the upcoming sci-fi MMO Dual Universe, has announced the winners of its Space Station Building Contest. The developer started the contest last year in October and it was open to all Alpha backers of the game. Players submitted dozens of entries in the contest and now finally, the developer has picked the winners of the contest. According to Novaquark, these designs show how capable the Dual Universe’s fully editable, the shared world is where players can build together.

The winner of the contest is New Genesis organization member Flip360 whose entry AMN Aspire Station was declared the best out of the best. The AMN Aspire Station serves as a defensive rearming and repair post for New Genesis’ members. The major points which led to its victory were its brilliant looks, that feature monolithic exterior along with a clean and modern interior, and its emphasis on creative and intelligent architecture.

Dual Universe Space Station

The space station was built from the ground up with maneuverability and usability in mind offering great views from the inside and plenty of space for all the organization’s members. It broke away from the in-game building and used real-world architectural cues to present an amazing, functional space in the Dual Universe. CEO Jean-Christophe Baillie of Novaquark said:

While all the entries were incredible. The Aspire Station really matches content that is produced by traditional game studios. But it’s coming from the community using in-game tools, and this level of creativity will increase as the community grows and players become more acquainted with these tools.

The second two space stations rounding up the top 3 included Port Albatross LZ by Dr. Rhubarb and The Myriad Research Station by Serula. These space stations could be refueling/trading stations, defensive outpost or organizational HQs but they all play an important role in the game and Dual Universe’s many important functions such as its dynamic economy and organization. Port Albatross features plenty of customization using the in-game scripting whereas The Myriad was built with user-implemented constraints.

Novaquark also released a walkthrough video that showcases all three finalists and their creations. You can check it out below:

An interview of the winner Flip360 is coming soon as well. Dual Universe is now available as a $60 Pledge Pack. Dual Universe’s Beta 1 is slated to release sometime this summer while the full game will release in 2021.
