Publisher Iceberg Interactive and developer Muro Studios have announced the PC release date of their upcoming fly & slash Metroidvania title DOOMBLADE. DOOMBLADE is slated for release on PC via Steam and other digital platforms on May 31, 2023, and it will be priced at $17.99. DOOMBLADE is a fast, addictive, and challenging Metroidvania where you will take on the role of Gloom Girl who is the last of the Gloomfolk. The PC release date of DOOMBLADE was announced with a brand-new trailer which you can check out below:

The story of the game follows Gloom Girl who manages to find DOOMBLADE, a sentient weapon that is hellbent on escaping after spending eons in chains. Having spent a lot of time alone herself, Gloom Girl is drawn to DOOMBLADE after she hears a whisper, and once she finds it, both Gloom and Doom join forces and begin a quest to regain the blade’s powers and exact revenge on its captors.

While using DOOMBLADE as a weapon, Gloom Girl is able to wreak havoc on The Dread Lords who were responsible for capturing and trapping DOOMBLADE in the Underworld. The game features a new and disruptive fly-attack movement system that allows Gloom Girl to continue dashing through the air as long as she keeps attacking. You will need quick reflexes and razor-sharp precision to master the game. There are a lot of power-ups and secrets in the game to be found in the Underworld which is huge and spans over seven interconnected and distinct biomes.

Freeing the lowlands will require both Gloom and Doom working together using their powers and getting powerful enough to finally challenge the Dread Lords. The level and enemy encounters are designed with fast-paced movement in mind. Brian Skeel has composed the soundtrack of the game and it will keep your blood pumping as it will set the mood for some serious fly & slash action.
