Giant Squid, the developer behind Abzu, and Annapurna Interactive have announced their next project The Pathless with a gorgeous trailer at The Game Awards recently. Check out the reveal trailer below before we jump in the details.
The trailer shows a beautiful green forest which is alive with creatures of different kind. Some of the creatures appear to be friendly while some of the creatures appear to be supernatural with red bodies that looks like they are made of lava. Other than that, the trailer shows a hunter whose face is hidden getting busy with a bow.
At the start of the trailer there is also a large mountain or a rock hanging above the forest which looks like it holds much importance to the story of the game and the red lava creatures may be coming from that as well because the mountain or rock also appears to be made of the same lava.
The main character seems to have a partner with her which is an eagle and it seems to play an important role in the game because the trailer shows the eagle helping the main character in traversing around the forest.
Environments range from green forests to ancient ruins to destroyed areas full of flames and giant creatures made of fire. This could be the later stages of the game because their last title Abzu also started of very pretty and slow but end game was challenging and offered a different change of pace.

More details about The Pathless have not been revealed at this point but the trailer looks amazing and considering the fact that Abzu was brilliant, we are certain that The Pathless will be amazing as well.
The Pathless will be released in 2019 on PS4 and Epic Games Stores.
