New Destiny 2 Cutscene Pays Tribute To Our Vanguard Hunter Cayde-6 (Spoilers)

Destiny 2 cutscene

Destiny 2 DLC The Black Armory is out now and some players have discovered a new cutscene that seems to be a major part of where the story is headed next. If you have not reached that point yet or want to discover it on your own then you should leave now as this post contains minor spoilers.

The new Destiny 2 cutscene shows Prince Uldren being resurrected by a ghost which means that he is a guardian now. Guardians usually do not have any memories of their previous life, so it is more than likely that Uldren has no memory of the events of Forsaken and that he killed Cayde-6, our Vanguard Hunter friend.

It is safe to say that Ulden is going to have a major role to play in the upcoming DLC or the next game if there is one. Especially keeping in mind that Mara Sov is alive. A keen fan pointed out that in a part of the cinematic there is something interesting in the shadow. The shadow seems to be a tribute to Cayde-6.

This could be intentional or we might be looking into it too much. Nothing is certain right now but it is very interesting indeed. If you have not seen the new Destiny 2 cutscene then you can check it out below:

Before Uldren wakes up, we see a shadow that seems like Cayde-6. You can check out the image below if you missed it.

Destiny 2 Cutscene Cayde-6

Cayde’s ghost was killed before he was shot so there is no way that he is coming back. Plus developers have already confirmed that he is indeed dead and that there would not be a Cayde-7. If this is indeed intentional then this is a very cool easter egg that fans will appreciate.

If this is not intentional then I guess the shadow is cast by Uldrens feet and that there is nothing more to the story. We will keep you updated regarding the matter so stay tuned for more information.

If you want to know how to unlock the cutscene yourself in the game, we have a guide right here.
