Arkane has announced that its upcoming shooter title Deathloop has been once again delayed and now the game will release on September 21, 2021. The game was previously slated for a May 21, 2021, release however the developer cites COVID-19 among different other reasons behind the delay and wants to make sure that the developers are getting enough time to polish the game and make is as better as possible before the release. The announcement was made on Twitter where game director Dinga Bakaba and art director Sebastien Mitton also shared a video.

Announced back at E3 2019, Deathloop was originally announced for a 2020 release alongside PS5 however the game was later pushed into 2021 with a new release date. The developer is obviously worried about the health of its employees and wants to give them enough time to work from home safely even if it means pushing the game a little further from its announced release date. The trend of game delays has significantly increased since the COVID-19 scene and Deathloop has been delayed twice because of it.
Deathloop is a PS5 exclusive title and despite Microsoft’s acquisition of Zenimax, the parent company of Bethesda, Microsoft has announced that Deathloop will remain a PS5 exclusive title for consoles with a PC release. The new release date of Deathloop is now set in September 2021 and we have to wait and see if Arkane now manages to polish up the game and release it on time this time around without any further delays. Make sure to check out the previously released gameplay trailer of the game as well.
